José Rodríguez García

José Rodríguez García is a film director based in Puerto Rico.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences of Digital Cinematography from Atlantic University. He’s the director of the award winning Puerto Rican western short film ‘Mancha E’ Platano’. He has also worked as a Cinematographer in the short film ‘Saudade’. These films have been selected by fifteen film festivals, in eight countries; earning him accolades such as three National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences Emmy Student Production Awards in Editing, Cinematography and Sound Design.
Currently he works as an independent filmmaker, building his body of work as a director in narrative projects. His goal as an artist is to create films that have universal themes but showcase Puerto Rican culture through different genres.
